Meet the counsellors
Jennifer Bond
Hi, I'm Jennifer Bond. I completed my Bachelor's of Social Work in 2011 and have been working as a Social Worker in the healthcare field ever since. I have worked in a variety of roles with people in all walks of life facing challenges with physical and mental health and have become truly passionate about how the mind, body, and spirit are connected. Physical health, mental health, social health, emotional health, and spiritual health are all intertwined and I believe it is important for a counsellor to understand and work with individuals to bring all of these parts of the whole together.
I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Social Work and I feel strongly that counsellors need to continually engage in education and training so that clients can be assured that they are being provided with the most relevant and current treatment knowledge.
I provide a trauma-informed and developmentally-appropriate practice. What does that mean? It means that I am keenly aware of how trauma, whether from childhood or later in life, impacts the very physiology of your body, and how you think, feel, and act every day. I use this awareness to guide my practice in a way that is safe for you. This also means that when I'm working with children and youth I use tools that are appropriate for their level of development, so that may be lots of play, music, movement, art, and nature!
I use several treatment modalities and tailor treatment towards the needs of the individual client. When working with clients I might use techniques and strategies from cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, strengths-based approaches, person-centered approaches, habit-based change, mindfulness, and may also include movement, music, and nature in my practice.
The goal at Soul Simple is to make the counselling journey as simple as possible for you. Working on yourself is not always easy but getting the help you need should be simple. At Soul Simple we offer a variety of booking options including virtual, phone, in office, and mobile visits to make counselling as accessible as we can.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
